Image: Text is from the “About Us” section of a local florist’s website, most blacked out. Remaining text reads:
History
For decades, a force
ethereal and bold,
movement and balance,
Always growing excellence.
community begins with good will
Our mission is discarded –
redesign,
accept.
Just living is not enough

Whoa! Another great erasure this week. This was an interesting idea for one, using an about page! Especially one for a florist (my favorite of the prompts this week hehe). Well done!

This is so fabulously done. The erasure poems have me fascinated with the sheer manner they are constructed. You did great with including a florist’s about page section!

Using a florist’s about page was a clever way to incorporate one of the prompts. This is another great example of an erasure poem. That last line feels especially prophetic.

Clever! History being described as “movement and balance” strikes me as true (I’d never thought of it that way). The last line resonates as a motto for history teachers everywhere. Nice work!

I love that you created something beautiful from something that usually pretty bland.

Just living is not enough–hear hear! Nice job. Erasure poems are hard but you made it look easy.

OMG thank you. So not easy, particularly since poetry is something I really struggle with.

Love that last line! And the whole idea/picture of history being a force, a growing thing – very cool!

Very clever source and I love what you did with it, especially “our mission is discarded.”
