Publication Alert: Writer’s Workout

For those of you who have been following along, I’m a big fan of Writer’s Workout’s Writer’s Games. It’s a multi-week, multi-story prompted contest that I try to participate in every year. While it’s pretty intense writing stories for 5-6 weekends in a row, I find it’s a great way to generate short fiction pieces. (And I do love an externally imposed deadline!)

Each year, Writer’s Workout publishes an anthology featuring the top placing stories from each event. This year, I came in ninth place overall and have two stories in 72 Hours of Insanity: Anthology of The Games: vol. 14.

The first story—”A Place to Leave Your Grief”—came in third place for Event 2. This is a speculative tale about an unexpected sisterhood of women dealing with, you guessed it, grief.

The second story came in fourth place in Event 4, and is titled “Everyone Knows.” It’s an experimental piece about a woman who is drawn to the sea.

In addition to my stories, there are tons of other excellent tales, so hope over and get your copy today. It is available in paperback, ebook, and in the KU library as well. What are you waiting for?
